General Education Superstar Spotlight Carri e Bennett, Native Nutrition Facilitator

This week, we are excited to shine a light on Carrie Bennett, Native Nutrition Facilitator.

Carrie has been the Lead Native Nutrition Facilitator for our LifeSPAN grant programming for the past 16 months.  This year, she brought the 13 Moons of Anishinaabe Nutrition curriculum to 29 EUP classrooms (6 elementary schools, 1 middle school, 2 high schools) and 3 Sault Tribe Chippewa Elders meal sites (Sault Ste Marie, St Ignace, Hessel).  She also brings a new lesson each week to both the Sault Ste Marie and Bay Mills farmers markets as one of our Farmers Market Food Navigators.  Additionally, Carrie has built many partnerships with both our districts and the community which have resulted in additional services being provided for our students.   She is a great advocate, teammate and asset to our agency.
