Big Things are happening in our community. We are thrilled to kick off Phase 1 of the Outdoor Discovery and Exploration Station at the Sault Early Learning Center (located at Soo Township Elementary Building on M-129) We are creating a thoughtfully designed space where children can learn and explore through play, and families can connect in a safe, inclusive, and accessible environment. Playground equipment has been selected, with installation to occur this summer! This is just the start. More phases are on the way as this vision continues to take shape and we can't wait to bring you along for the journey. Stay tuned for regular updates as we pull back the curtain on the exciting plans developed with our Advisory Committee and informed by a community needs assessment. This work is made possible through funding from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services through the Healthy Community Zones initiative in partnership with the Eastern Upper Peninsula Intermediate School District, Sault Area Public Schools, Chippewa Luce Mackinac Community Action Agency.
