Bringing children and families together through play EXPLORE THE SPACE This work is made possible through funding from the Michigan Department of Health Human Services (MDHHS) through Healthy Community Zones Initiative, in partnership with: Eastern Upper Peninsula Intermediate School District, Sault Area Public Schools, and Chippewa Luce Mackinac Community Action Agency.

The Outdoor Discovery & Exploration Station at the Sault Early Learning Center is thoughtfully designed to encourage movement, exploration, interaction, and play for children and families of varying play styles and needs.

From accessible play features and interactive learning panels to gathering spaces and nature-inspired elements, the space is intended to create opportunities for children to explore, discover, and connect together.

The playground layout was intentionally designed to support a welcoming environment where movement, curiosity, creativity, and community can come together through play.
